Message from the Board of Trustees

Dear Members

The Board of Trustees is currently familiarising themselves with the running of Central Office; and how it relates to the operating of The NFSH Charitable Trust Ltd. At this time we have no further information to give out.

This familiarisation is an essential part of our role as the employers of all staff at Central Office and is also part of our obligation for Good Governance.

Naturally, we will keep members up to date with our work, as and when we have new information. Please could you address your questions regarding our review to the Board of Trustees as the staff at Central Office will be unable to answer them, and will add to their day to day tasks.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation in this matter.

The Board of Trustees.

Updated Statement from the Board of Trustees - 19th February 2012

Alan Knott, Ginny Burman, Helen Barsby, Patricia Bateman, Christina Mark and Chris Brummit

After weeks of legal wrangling, Mrs A Buxton-King, Mr R Hutcheson and Ms E Weir have all announced their resignations from The NFSH Charitable Trust Limited. This came just as a petition was being raised to be submitted to the High Court. While this clarification is welcome, the truth is that Mrs Buxton-King had already been constitutionally removed as a trustee, and all three had already been expelled from membership of the NFSH because of their unconstitutional actions.

In addition to removing Mrs Buxton-King as National Chair on the 27th October 2011, the five board members summoned the Council on the 26th November 2011, who voted to reinstate Mr Martin Alan Knott as National Chair. This decision was taken on the basis that the complaints against Mr Knott had been found by the five Trustees, which included the National Standards Officer, to be malicious, unfounded or unsafe due to the procedures not being adhered to. Therefore, it was decided that Mr Knott had incorrectly removed as National Chair, International Tutor and Member. It was unanimously agreed that it was the duty of five Trustees to reinstate Mr Knott as a Member and Tutor and to give Mr Knott and Council the opportunity for him to accept his reinstatement as National Chair, which he subsequently accepted.

Over the past months, we have been subjected to many negative actions and false accusations. This has been detrimental to both our personal health and general wellbeing. We have endured all of this to bring justice to our organisation on behalf of our members; we have done this also to protect the good name of The NFSH and to allow Spiritual Healing to be brought back to its rightful place at the forefront of our organisation.

The trustees would like to express our deep heartfelt gratitude to the membership who have given us such tremendous support over the last few months. It is now the greatest wish of the Trustees named above to move forward and start the task of rebuilding The NFSH Charitable Trust Limited. We want and need our members and supporters to be a part of that rebuilding process. We need to work together to repair the damage that has been done to our organisation, not just over the last 5 months, but previous to that also. We would like to express our thanks to the staff who have continued with their duties throughout.

If any member would like to see a copy of the full statement, they are advised to contact their regional council representatives or look at the Members Area of the NFSH website.

The Natural Healing Service

She's not a doctor, but cancer patients in Leeds say she is invaluable in helping them cope with their journey. Katie Baldwin met natural healer Ruth Kaye.

'IT's to give you an ability to cope. It gives you a coping mechanism that some people might not inwardly have. I think that is paramount in dealing with any illness."

Emma Craven is a cancer patient being treated at St James's Hospital in Leeds – and she's also one of the many who have visited Ruth Kaye's haven at the hospital's new £220m cancer wing.

Channel 4: Enemies of Reason

This programme made some interesting observations but chose to ignore one significant factor; that the majority of people in the UK who use so called "alternative" remedies such as Homeopathy and Healing are in reality using them to complement, not as an alternative to, their conventional medicine.

£205,000 Lottery Grant Awarded to Research Healing

A lottery grant has been awarded to research the benefits of Healing provided by members of NFSH The Healing Trust by Birmingham University over the next two years.

The grant was awarded to Freshwinds, a Birmingham medical charity, which will work in collaboration with the University. Patients of a Birmingham hospital who have been diagnosed with particular bowel problems, who are still suffering after completing their conventional treatment, will be offered a series of five healing sessions.
