This weekend workshop is specifically framed to introduce Reiki practitioners to the possibility of Healing Trust membership. It is offered to those who have achieved Reiki Level 1 and 2 Practitioner level.

Applicants will need to complete a Reiki Application Form. They will need to satisfy the National Occupational Standards for Reiki (which can be found on www.skillsforhealth.org.uk) as these correspond in major part to the NOS for Spiritual Healing. They will need to demonstrate regular personal spiritual practice and self development, provide personal references, submit four patient testimonials and will be required to complete a standard NFSH Healing Trust Assessment Panel Interview.

The course covers all key elements of Healing Trust Training, including:

• the Human Energy System
• the new Code of Conduct
• personal health at all levels
• modes of spiritual practice
• the Act of Healing
• methods of Attunement, Grounding and Protection
• the Mind-Body link
• the Higher Self and Higher Consciousness
• the Healer's role in the Cosmic Plan

Applicants should note that Healing Trust Training works alongside the Reiki modality in a number of statutory healthcare settings. After qualification, they may find that they wish to adopt different modalities in different settings.

One area of significant development for The Healing Trust is the area of Advanced Prior Learning (APL) and Advanced Prior Experiential Learning (APEL). There will be a national regulatory standard for this by 2011 and The Healing Trust is already exploring ways in which this route can be made available to potential new members of the organisation. The Healing Trust continues to be approached by healers who would like to join us and who do have considerable experience and/or training within other related organisations or groups. The Healing Trust has in place a rigorous process for evaluating the APL / APEL of individuals who approach us.

It is expected that the Reiki Synergy course being trialled during 2010 will provide one of a number of routes for those who wish to join the organisation.
